Month of the Military Child

Bellows AFS Celebrates the Military Child!

The Month of the Military Child, observed every April, is a time to honor the resilience and sacrifices of military children. These young heroes face unique challenges as they navigate frequent relocations, parental deployments, and the demands of military life. Throughout the month, communities come together to celebrate their strength, courage, and unwavering support for their families. It’s a reminder of the vital role military children play in supporting their parents and contributing to the well-being of military communities worldwide.

Purple Up! Day

Purple Up! Day encourages individuals, schools, and organizations to wear purple as a visible expression of solidarity with military families. The purple color symbolizes the combination of all military branches – army green, navy blue, air force blue, coast guard blue, and marines red – coming together in unity to celebrate the strength, bravery, resilience, and sacrifice of military children.
